My first Soundcheck photo is in the October issue of Spin Magazine. Soundcheck is a section at the very front of the book which shows 3 live photographs, chosen both for it's editorial and aesthetic value. Each photo is printed 2 pages wide with quote from the artist. It is the pinnacle of live concert photography. There is no publication in the US that prints live photos this large or puts this much emphasis on a single, non-studio, photo.

Fall Cleaning
With a new season on the horizon I am anxious to break out the cardigans, blazers and other warm and wooly adornments. The transition from summer to fall inside my apartment is usually quite simple.
Put away the A/C, box the t-shirts and break out the winter wear and down comforter--cleaning and pruning the pack-rat-like collection of destitute consumer items i find to be treasure.
This year seems more like an episode of Growing Pains than winterizing a NYC apartment...
time to hit the road. more from home

So this is what Sharpness is?
For years this is what I thought to be a properly focused image:

Then I got glasses.
Standing up at a the optometrist donning the temporary frames (which looked like something Tim Burton would have dreamed up) I looked at the floor and it hit me. I was fucking blind. Towering six feet from the ground my eyes were drinking the texture and patterns of the carpet. I could read things twice as fast and ten times further. It's like using an Apple II for two decades thinking "This is as good as computers get." then someone gives you Macbook Pro. Bam!
This is how the world looks now... or rather how it would look if i hadn't left my beautiful, beautiful glasses on the table running out the door this morning.

Quiet Moments
The rampant aggression of light, noise and excitement that blankets Nevada's Sin City is expanded annually by Vegoose Music Festival. The void of intimacy stretches over open fields through lush crowds of festive attire engulfing Sam Boyd Stadium grounds with the seemingly inescapable presence of strangers. It is in places like this that moments of quiet seem most tangible and striking.
